STLS Scholarship Foundation's mission is to provide financial assistance to deserving high school seniors, enabling them to pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of empowerment and support for the next generation of leaders in our community.

A Brief History of STLS
The Southern Tennessee Ladies’ Society (STLS) was founded in 2009 by a group of women who enjoyed fellowship and networking with other women and shared a common belief that the key for improvement in society is education. To that end, they decided to form a group that could provide enjoyable social activities and also focus on raising money for local scholarships.
The first meeting took place in May 2009 at Iris Rudder’s home. Many meetings followed with careful planning for an organization that would be purposeful, fun and provide intellectual and social growth for women in Southern Tennessee communities. Invitations to an August 2009 inaugural meeting were sent to “friends” and “friends of friends” and interest grew quickly. Now in its 15th year, membership has grown to around 170. As of January 2024, the STLS Scholarship Foundation is a 501c3, and to date has awarded over $330,000 in scholarships to 110+ graduating high school students from Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Lincoln and Moore counties.

Membership dues are $25 annually.
There is also a $15 charge for each monthly Luncheon meeting attended to cover the cost of food.
